How to Connect Your Phone to the sPOD BantamX via Bluetooth

The video walks through every step from download to first connection — great reference if you run into any snags.Step 1: Download the sPOD App Before you touch anything in the cab, grab the app. Search "sPOD" in the App Store or Google Play and install it. It's free. Open the app and create an account if you don't already have one. Step 2: Power Up Your BantamX Make sure your vehicle is on or in accessory mode so the BantamX has power. The unit needs to be active before your phone can find it. Step 3: Enable Bluetooth on Your Phone Head to your phone's settings and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. You don't need to manually pair through your phone's Bluetooth menu — the sPOD app handles the connection for you. Step 4: Connect Through the sPOD App Open the sPOD app and tap "Connect Device" (or the Bluetooth icon, depending on your app version). The app will scan for nearby BantamX units and display yours in the list. Tap your BantamX to initiate the connection. Once paired, the app will sync with your unit and you'll see your switch layout populate on screen. First time connecting? You may be prompted to confirm a pairing code. Just follow the on-screen prompts — it takes seconds. Step 5: Customize Your Switch Layout This is where the BantamX earns its keep. How to Strobe or Dim Your Lights | Tips and Tricks

One of the big questions we get is "How do I strobe my lights with an sPOD"  or "How do I dim my lights with an sPOD?" We have listened and put out a quick tutorial on how you can achieve both of these features. Follow along with Jason as he shows you how this is done easily with the sPOD app and also with the HD controller.https://www.4x4spod.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/MicrosoftTeams-video.mp4HOW TO STROBE YOUR LIGHTS WITH sPODOpen the sPOD app and connect to your systemClick "Setup"Click the channel you want to modify and select "Strobe". press OK Switch to "Offroad Mode"Click Strobe on the channel you modified. On the HD Controller:Hold down the channel button you set up through the AppA white flashing light will show signifying that it is activating the strobing feature that you set up in the app. HOW TO DIM YOUR LIGHTS WITH sPOD Open the sPOD app and connect to your system Click "Setup" Click the channel you want to modify and select "Dimmable". press OK  Select the channel you modified to dim, and with the light on a slider on the right side of the channel will appear. Click the slider and a larger vertical slider will appear that you are able to move up and down controlling the brightness of your light.    On the HD Controller: Hold down the same channel button you set up through the App While holding it down, your light will slowly dim down or up depending which one you are on. Mercedes Benz Unimog 1300L | Behind the Build

This month's behind the build, our Friends from Baja Designs had a chance to check out Harrison Schoen's 1985 Mercedes Benz 1300L Unimog at Overland Expo West 2025 - and let's just say it's one of the wildest builds out there. He is living in it full-time and currently traveling around the country with the goal of traversing to Argentina on the Pan-American Highway.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl-2o_yImio Total Control At His Fingertips Harrison uses two sPOD BantamX power control modules mated to a touchscreen controller both inside the driver cab. He also has a touchscreen controller inside of his living quarters, giving him the flexibility to control all 35 of his Baja Designs lights and other powered accessories no matter where he is inside the vehicle.    "The goal behind this build is to live comfortably wherever I go, carry my motorcycle safely as I traverse down through South America to Argentina for two years" says Harrison of his build. Feeling like an Iron cowboy controlling 20,000 pounds of steel and aluminum, Harrison's Unimog is a crazy driving experience.
